THIS WEEK IN DOCTOR WHO - February 4, 2000

The UK - BBC2 is having Doctor Who do double duty this week. Assuming that afternoon Snooker coverage doesn't overrun, 2 episodes will air on Tuesday, 8 February at 6PM. My guess is that the 6:25PM episode would do better than the 6PM episode, as more of the potential audience gets home from work and / or finishes watching the news.

The USA - WQED Pittsburgh, PA replaced episode 1 of The Face of Evil with episode 1 of The Tomb of the Cybermen last weekend. This Cybermen story is being rerun now as a prelude to being offered as a pledge item on their next Sci-Fi Night. The Sci-Fi Night will be February 26thfrom 11PM to 2AM, and focus on Red Dwarf and Doctor Who. The hosts will be T. J. Lubinsky and Alicia Maloney.

The USA - KTEH San Jose, CA has convinced Peter Davison to visit their studios after his appearance at the Gallifrey One convention for a Peter Davison weekend. On Saturday, February 26, Mr. Davison will be in the studios for an All Creatures Great And Small night. On Sunday, February 27, Mr. Davison will be there from 8PM on for a Doctor Who night. Several of Mr. Davison's favorite episodes from his tenure as the 5th Doctor will air, followed by the Special Edition of The Five Doctors.

CANADA - Last week's mention about SPACE's erratic ratings for Doctor Who episodes was slightly mistaken. Only in the early days of SPACE (ca. Late 1997, Early 1998) were they giving some early Who episodes 14+ ratings. More recently, they have just given every episode an arbitrary PG rating.

**ALERT** Extensive Snooker coverage this week. If the afternoon portion of Tuesday's Snooker does not end on time, then BBC2 will probably drop 1 Doctor Who episode. Hopefully in that event they will drop and postpone episode 3, as dropping episode 2 would be really confusing for casual viewers.
