The Dalek, the Time Lord's oldest and most deadly enemy returns in the Doctor Who episode screening on Saturday June 25 at 7.30pm on ABC TV and this time round the mechanised monster has been refurbished to be a more dangerous opponent than ever. In the storyline for which all Doctor Who fans have been waiting, the Tardis lands in a subterranean museum in 2012.

Beneath the Salt Plains of Utah, the billionaire collector Henry Van Statten (Corey Johnson) holds the last relic of an alien race. When the Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) and Rose (Billie Piper) investigate, they discover that a Dalek, the last of its kind is held captive under heavy guard and is tormented by the obsessed Van Statten and his scientists as they try to solve the mystery of the metal monster.

The Doctor soon realizes that if his arch enemy is a prize specimen. Then so too is he. The Dalek and the Doctor are in the same boat! The Time Lord breaks the news to the Dalek that it is the last of its kind and before you can say "Exterminate!" it's a fight to the death with feisty Rose Tyler caught in the middle.
