Daleks In Manhattan averaged 6.3 million overnight viewers in the UK, the number 1 show on TV that day. The episode aired an hour earlier than Gridlock did in very nice weather. Doctor Who will air at 6:45PM this Saturday and apparently 6:50PM on 5 May, so if watching live or recording make sure that you prepare for the right start time. |

BTW, if you missed Daleks In Manhattan due to the early start time, and missed the BBC Three repeat on Sunday, remember the Friday 9PM BBC Three repeat. Another chance to get caught up so that part 2 makes sense when you tune in. |

Irish Doctor Who fans finally get to see the new series on one of their local stations. TV3 http://www.tv3.ie will air Series 1 starting Saturday 5 May at 7PM. TV3 aired the 8th Doctor TV Movie some years back. Unfortunately, TV3's choice of day and time puts Series 1 on opposite Series 3 on BBC One, which a large portion of the Irish viewing public can see. Still, if you haven't gotten to see Series 1 in Ireland, now is your chance. This is not the first Doctor Who schedule conflict for Irish viewers - in 1999 channel TG4 began airing the Jon Pertwee episodes Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 6PM. BBC Two then started their repeat run of Jon Pertwee on Tuesdays at 6PM. |

SciFi Channel US http://www.scifi.com has confirmed that Doctor Who series 3 will be part of their Summer lineup, starting in July. All 14 episodes (including The Runaway Bride) will air. Exact day and time have not been given. |

If you are watching Doctor Who on US public TV stations - read this paragraph. Many stations will soon air The Empty Child, the shortest episode of the new Doctor Who series. It is a tad under 42 minutes long. When it airs, there will be a scene about half-way through the episode where little yellow lights are swirling around Rose, after which Rose says "Well, tell them thanks". While the yellow lights are swirling, there is supposed to be dialogue from the other person in the scene explaining those swirling lights. Unless your PBS station has the foresight to use the Series 1 DVD set and manually dub the line in themselves (hint hint hint), the line will be missing. The CBC was given an earlier edit of the episode in 2005 which was missing this line. The broadcast masters for SciFi, BBC America, and Public TV in the US are the CBC masters, so the missing line problem will continue to occur until the master is replaced and stations are provided with a corrected version of the episode. The episode is full length - IT HAS NOT BEEN CUT. When friends complain that PBS edited this episode - PBS didn't. The line is on the DVD release, as that was based off the versions of the episodes on the UK DVD release, and the line was never missing there. |
