Countdown to Series 2 of Doctor Who in Hong Kong! ATV World
http://www.hkatv.com/world05 will air Series 2 Mondays at 9PM
starting 14 August, after the conclusion of Grey's Anatomy on that
channel. First up - The Christmas Invasion in an extended time slot.
Series 1 continues to repeat Sundays at 1:10PM.

Last week there was an absence of Doctor Who on the upcoming TV
schedules in the UK and the US. Naturally, that changed shortly
after the column went out.

UK's BBC Three http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree is doing a repeat run
of Doctor Who and its Doctor Who Confidential episodes beginning
this Sunday 6 August. Series 1 will air over the next 2 weeks, with
the first 2 episodes airing on Sunday the 6th and episodes airing
Sunday through Friday at 7PM thereafter. Doctor Who Confidential
episode 1 airs full length on the 6th, episode 2 is completely
skipped, and the rest of Confidential series 1 airs in the Cut Down
15 minute versions at 7:45PM daily. Series 1 of Doctor Who and
Doctor Who Confidential should air through Friday 18 August. It is
not known yet if Series 2 will encore afterwards.

Don't forget - UKTV Gold airs the 1996 Paul McGann Doctor Who TV Movie late Saturday night at 2:30AM BST.

In the US, unless you live in range of Maryland Public TV, Iowa Public TV, or KBTC 28 Tacoma, WA, or near the Canadian border for CBC TV, no Doctor Who for you this month. If you can hang on until Friday September 29, SciFi Channel http://www.scifi.com will gorge you with 12 hours of Who. 8 hours from 8AM to 4PM EDT/PDT (5AM to 1PM PDT on Satellite) - definitely from Series 1. 4 hours from 9PM to 1AM EDT/PDT (6PM to 10PM PDT on Satellite) - probably more Series 1 episodes. Episode titles were not known at press time, though they should be out before the end of the week.

Malaysian Doctor Who fans with Astro http://www.astro.com/my/v5 can
subscribe to both Series 1 and Series 2 of Doctor Who now. Series 1
repeats from Sunday 6 August to Saturday 12 August. Series 2
premieres from Sunday 27 August to Saturday 2 September. Airing
times are in the main listings of the column below. In the case of
the last 7 episodes of Series 2 (The Idiot's Lantern through
Doomsday), Astro will be the 2nd official broadcaster on Earth to
air those episodes after the BBC in the UK. (The BFBS military
service does not count as the general public can't tune in.) Be
advised - Astro intends to mess up the airing order of Series 2. The
Christmas Invasion, which should air *first*, will air *last*,
after Doomsday. The Christmas Invasion is also listed as airing
only 45 minutes, which is probably a mistake.

NRK 2 Norway is beginning a repeat run of Series 1 Tuesdays at 6:45PM CET beginning 22 August.

There have been rumours for months that another Doctor Who spinoff
programme was in development (besides documentary show Doctor Who
Confidential, drama Torchwood, kids magazine Totally Doctor Who, and
the K9 series being developed by Jetix). BBC In-House newsletter
Ariel suggested in yesterday's edition that the show in development
would feature Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith. The article
states "CBBC is developing a spin-off series from Doctor Who based
on the adventures of investigative journalist Sarah Jane, played by
Elizabeth Sladen, and to be written by Russell T. Davies. Sladen,
who originally played the Doctor's assistant in 1973, returned for
the last series where she was seen vying with young Rose Tyler for
the Doctor's affections." The BBC has not announced this on the
Doctor Who website or in their entertainment news, indicating that
Ariel may have reported something a bit early or that the story
requires a grain of salt - time will tell. If the show is being made
for CBBC, then it is being aimed at the younger audience in the UK,
while Torchwood will be aimed at an adult audience and Doctor Who is
aimed at the general family audience. Outpost Gallifrey
http://www.gallifreyone.com reports that sources are telling them
that the working title for this series is "Sarah Jane Investigates".

international sale occurs. Worth keeping an eye on, just in case.
