Yes. It's still real. The BBC really is still planning to have a new Doctor Who TV series. Still expected at some time in 2005. This is not a dream. We just have to wait a while. Makes the wait for The Scream Of The Shalka, BBCi's http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho official Ninth Doctor animated story which premieres in November, seem short and easy. |

This Week In Doctor Who is not going to engage in speculation on who the new Doctor will be. Not the focus of this column. Leave that for people much better at speculating than I, like Tom Baker. |

BBCi http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho has revealed that the BBC is producing a new Doctor Who documentary to air, probably in December. The Story of Doctor Who - a 1 hour special looking at 40 years of Doctor Who, produced with Kevin Davies (Thirty Years In The TARDIS) as an advisor. I wonder if they'll try to sell this documentary to air in other countries like they have others? |

No idea on which stories yet or when the run would begin - presumably neither issue will be decided on for a long time. |

The new Region 1 Doctor Who DVDs (The Dalek Invasion of Earth, The Talons of Weng-Chiang) officially hit shelves on October 7. The Talons disc has a 20 minute feature of special significance to US fans - the Howard DaSilva introductions for the original US broadcasts of this story. WSKG 46 Binghamton, NY has dropped Doctor Who. This brings the number of Doctor Who affiliates in the US down to 10 (11 when/if KTEH is able to resume airing the series). It is the lowest number of US affiliates since I started writing the column in 1998, and probably much longer. |

Correction for Cincinnati Doctor Who fans. WCET 48 aired episodes 12 and 13 of The Trial Of A Time Lord last week, not episodes 13 and 14. Episode 14 will air on October 18. |
