We begin the column this week with a rare exclusive. Most of today's info on BBC Choice has not been reported anywhere else yet. BBC Choice will air all 6 episodes of Invasion of the Dinosaurs on the night of Friday, October 15th. BBC Choice selected this story because it fits a dinosaur theme that they will be going through at the time. Episodes 1 - 3 will air from 9 to 10:30PM. An unrelated half hour show airs. Episodes 4 - 6 polish off the night beginning at 11PM. Episode 1 (titled 'Invasion' instead of the full title) still only exists in Black & White, so that will be the version used. Episode 3 will be special, however. Before the original broadcast, 2 minutes of footage were cut out of episode 3. Presumably for the first time ever, the longer more-dino version will air! The only question I still have is whether the regional variations will break away at 10PM like most weeknights, or stay with this special. Hours after the last This Week column went out around the world, I got an e-mail from DavrosDW regarding NHPTV and its broadcast of Planet of the Daleks. NHPTV had planned to air the 5 episode version of that story, omitting the Black & White episode 3. DavrosDW - and hopefully other column readers - alerted NHPTV to this problem. And NHPTV fixed it! They have made whatever arrangements they had to make, and all 6 episodes of the story are airing - episode 2 and the BW episode 3 this weekend. And they are going to air all 6 episodes of Invasion of the Dinosaurs when it comes around. (I know they have aired the BW episode of Invasion of the Dinosaurs before - I visited New Hampshire in 1996 1 week too late to see it.) Congratulations to NHPTV for looking out for the concerns of their Doctor Who audience, and to DavrosDW. |

BBC America is adding a new early broadcast time this weekend, so be advised. As of now, the Doctor Who hour bloc will air Saturday at 6AM and 5PM Eastern Time, and Sundays at 8AM Eastern Time. This weekend there will be a one time only 4th broadcast Sunday at 1PM Eastern. And coming Saturday, October 23rd - The Seeds of Doom, the first new story on BBC America since May! |

WYBE Philadelphia, PA aired The Deadly Assassin episode 4 last Saturday at 11PM, to make up for accidentally missing it the previous week. As a result, The Face Of Evil episode 2 aired at 11:30PM, and The Face Of Evil episode 3 was delayed until this week. |

UK Gold resumes its Hartnell / Troughton installments this week with The Web Planet. As before, the 60s Who serials are airing late Friday nights. |

Episode 3 is not part of the traditional US package of Pertwee stories.) The Daleks capture the Doctor and blow up the ship which Jo was resting in. Episode 3 only exists in Black & White at the moment. It is apparently the high budget episode, with a suspenseful escape scene and a balloon action scene, if I've read the novelization correctly. ยป the next edition reported that, as it turned out, episode three wasn't shown after all, episode four was shown instead. |
