Season 24, Episodes 1 through 4. Doctor: Sylvester McCoy. UKTV Gold skips the Colin Baker stories this time to complete this truncated run of leftover Doctor Who broadcasts before the end of the year. They bought the rights to air stories a certain number of times under their last contract, and some stories didn't get aired as much. Those are the ones you are getting now as they get their money's worth from the old deal. The Doctor regenerates in an accident while the TARDIS is dragged off course by the Rani. Taking advantage of his weakened mental state, she uses him to help with a dangerous scientific experiment.
