Axos lands on Earth. The Axons ask only to be allowed to repair their damaged ship and offer the gift of the miraculous Axonite in return. But the Axons aren't all that they seem.

The DaSilva package of Tom Baker stories in 1978 was not the first attempt to sell Doctor Who to the Americans. First, there was a package of Jon Pertwee stories in the early 70s. This story may have been intended to attract viewers in America, with American agent Bill Filer having so much to do in the story. Alas, his accent is terrible, sending Americans out of the room screaming in pain. Think of it this way - had Bill's accent been less scary, he could have become a regular.
