The overnight ratings for Partners in Crime on BBC One were 8.4
million viewers, with 1.2 million viewers catching the BBC Three
repeat Sunday evening, the highest rating ever achieved for the
Sunday broadcast. Tonight Doctor Who is at 6:45PM on BBC One. On the
19th Who airs at 6:20PM. If for some reason you miss the BBC One
showings, BBC Three's regular times are 8PM Sunday and 9PM Friday.
All times BST - one hour later for people in Western Europe who can
tune in.

BBC7 http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7 is ending the repeat run of Paul
McGann Big Finish Doctor Who audios after one story - Storm Warning
part 4 this Sunday at 6PM and Midnight BST is the last one scheduled
at the moment.

Meanwhile, "Doctor Who - The Commentaries" is going through some
growning pains on BBC7.

Last weekend, if you had subscribed to the BBC7 podcast of this show
(through the BBC's website or iTunes), you got a 48 minute 30 second
commentary akin to the online ones for Series 2 and 3 episodes (it is
also a secondary audio track on some BBC Three broadcasts depending
on your source for the channel). A very good commentary, in my
opinion. You really want to see the episode once *before* listening
to this. The BBC7 broadcast on Sunday was as advertised - 30 minutes,
and an edited selection from this commentary. But after a few days,
the full length version of the Partners In Crime commentary on the
BBC website and iTunes was replaced by the 30 minute version. To the
best of my knowledge, it is too late to download the full version.
Reaction to the 30 minute radio version was mixed. Late in the week,
BBC7 announced that, beginning with the Sunday 20 April edition
(episode 3), the full length commentary would be broadcast, and the
show would only air at Midnight BST. Other SciFi dramas will take the
6:30PM slot.

If you want the option to hear the full version of the episode 2
commentary, be subscribed or download the file as soon as it is
available, saving it to your computer/ipod/whatever, in case it is
swapped out for the 30 minute version down the road. Presumably the
change at BBC7 means that episode 3 and beyond will not have a 30
minute version to worry about, but you never know.

USA - SciFi http://www.scifi.com premieres the fourth series of Doctor Who this Friday the 18th of April at 8:30PM and 11PM Eastern with a 90 minute showing of Voyage of the Damned. One new episode of Sarah Jane Adventures precedes Who at 8PM only - Revenge of the Slitheen, pt 1. Most Sarah Jane Adventure episodes are only airing one time during this initial run - no late night repeats!!!

The Sarah Jane Adventures premiere installment Invasion of the Bane
aired on 11 April in letterbox (black bars top and bottom) on regular
SciFi, maintaining the show's aspect ratio in the best format for
traditional televisions. The vast majority of the audience will have
seen this version. But for those of us with SciFi HD ...

The Sarah Jane Adventures premiere installment Invasion of the Bane
aired on 11 April with letterboxing (black bars top and bottom) and
pillarboxing (black bars left and right) on SciFi HD, leaving the
episode in the middle of the screen like a postage stamp. This is how
SciFi HD has treated many widescreen shows, including early seasons
of Battlestar Galactica, Stargate Atlantis, and the first 3 Doctor
Who series. I had hoped that, as they had bought Sarah Jane after
SciFi HD launched, they would have arranged to get a widescreen
version ready so it could fill the screen on the HD channel without
black bars. They didn't. It makes me suspect that new Doctor Who
episodes will be treated the same way. Sarah Jane and Doctor Who are
not HD shows, but they are widescreen and will look a lot better
filling the screen than as postage stamps. If someone at SciFi is
reading this - air widescreen shows on SciFi HD in widescreen! In
fairness, the picture looks much better than regular SciFi even if it
is rather small when handled this way.

German Doctor Who fans - Pro 7 http://www.prosieben.de is going to try Doctor Who again. 1 episode a week starting this Sunday at 5PM.. It picks up where they left off - The Long Game.

South Africa - SABC2 concludes the first series of Sarah Jane
Adventures this Sunday at 9:30AM (The Lost Boy pt 2), after which
Sarah Jane leaves the schedule.
