Alaska One http://www.alaskaone.org has purchased Series 1 and The Christmas Invasion. Alaska viewers get Doctor Who Sundays at 11PM Alaska Time starting 2 March. Unknown if they have purchased Series 2, though the purchase of The Christmas Invasion is a good sign. All of the public TV stations in Alaska except KAKM Anchorage air the same Alaska One programming - KAKM is not airing Doctor Who at this time. DirecTV and Dish Network are already carrying the digital channels for stations in Alaska and Hawaii in addition to the analog channels. |

17 stations have purchased The Christmas Invasion (1 hour episode, David Tennant's first from Christmas 2005). See the list of Series 2 below - the 15 stations that do not have a * next to them are known to have bought The Christmas Invasion. Stations with a * are only known to have the regular Series 2. The Christmas Invasion is theoretically being syndicated for the same 2 year period as Series 2 (April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2010). At least 2 stations have permission to jump the line and will air The Christmas Invasion in March 2008 as a pledge special. WILL 12 Urbana, IL - Sunday 9 March 6PM CDT Iowa Public TV - Saturday 15 March 11PM CDT (hosted by TJ Lubinksy, already at IPTV to help host another program - this is not a national pledge segment) |
Most PBS stations are going into their pledge seasons, so after tonight you have a better than 50% chance that your Who station will take the show off air for one or more weeks. Don't panic. |

WTVP 47 Peoria, IL http://www.wtvp.org has updated their web site as of February 20. They are still working on raising the money needed to stay on the air after February. $50,000 to go as of the 20th. Full details on the website. If you are in WTVP's viewing area or just wanted to thank them for being one of the stations airing Doctor Who, send them an e-mail or call. They would not mind a pledge too. By next week's edition we should know if WTVP will survive. |
If Series 3 of Doctor Who becomes available to public TV stations, it will be some time after the episodes have aired on BBC America. BBC America airs Series 3 from January 26 to April 19 2008. |

4 Public TV stations currently have rights to air the classic Doctor Who run (1963-1989). Iowa Public TV is currently airing both Series 1 and Peter Davison episodes. Maryland Public TV is airing Series 1 while resting classic Who. KBTC 28 Tacoma, WA and WCET 48 Cincinnati, OH are airing Tom Baker episodes while resting Series 1. |

One station has, to the best of our knowledge, used all their rights to the Series 1 package already - WLVT 39 Allentown, PA. If they air Series 1 again, then that means they re-bought the package. WILL 12 Urbana, IL, Iowa Public TV, OETA Oklahoma, and Idaho Public TV are currently on their 4th and presumably final cycle of Series 1. WMFE 24 Orlando, FL did not renew Doctor Who for a second series and is not expected to return it to their schedule. If any other stations have made similar determinations, they have yet to let us know. |
