The 8 July premiere of the 46 ½ minute series finale Doomsday on BBC One had overnight ratings of 7.72 million viewers, 43.2% of the audience watching TV at the time. The final ratings for "Army Of Ghosts" on 1 July were not available when this column was completed. The next new Doctor Who episode premieres in December. Its name - The Runaway Bride. |

And the Torchwood spinoff series will premiere in a couple of months, so the Doctor Who universe won't be staying out of the public eye in the UK for long. |

Doctor Who airs in Malaysia on the Astro Network http://www.astro.com.my/v5 on Box Office Events channel 22. It appears you have to subscribe to Doctor Who to see the series. Series 1 began airing on 9 July and will conclude on 15 July. Series 2 will air in its entirety from 3 to 9 August, so Malaysian viewers with this pay package will be the second in the world to see the end of Series 2 after the UK, assuming they air the show all the way through Doomsday. Doctor Who returns to the radio! BBC 7 http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7 begins another repeat run of Doctor Who radio drama Sundays at 6PM and Midnight starting 16 July with encore material from Big Finish http://www.doctorwho.co.uk . BBC7 will begin the run with Shada, a 2003 BBCi/Big Finish co-production which remade the only Doctor Who TV serial abandoned during filming. BBC7 has previously presented Shada in 3 hour block - this time they are showing it serially by episode. |
