New Zealand - Prime TV http://www.primetv.co.nz has scheduled Rose (first episode) twice this week - Thursday and Sunday at 7:30PM. It was not clear as of publication time if the Sunday repeat was a one time special event or a regular weekly repeat. There is an advertising blitz for the show in New Zealand right now, including ads on the buses http://nzdwfc.tetrap.com/screenings/prime/bus.html . The long wait is over. Doctor Who's on Prime. Time to thank the station by tuning in. |
UK - A repeat season of the Christopher Eccleston episodes is on the way! BBC Three http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree has Doctor Who back on the upcoming schedule. The Doctor Who website http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/news/drwho/2005/07/04/20378.shtml has this report: |
"Missed an episode? BBC Three will repeat the series on Sundays at 7PM, with a cut down Confidential at 7:45PM. Initially, there will also be a repeat, uh, repeat on Fridays at 9PM - but this slot's not been confirmed for all 13 episodes. ... Please note - like the weather, schedules can change at a moment's notice." |
*Note - the TWIDW Update sent out this past weekend on the BBC Three repeat run was based on Digiguide http://www.digiguide.com and Radio Times http://www.radiotimes.com . At the time those sources showed that the repeat run would be Saturdays at 7:45PM with repeats Wednesdays at 8:15PM. Schedules have updated to reflect the information on the BBC website. BBC Three frequently changes their schedules, so don't be surprised if the repeats move again at short notice. |
The CBC http://www.cbc.ca/television officially purchased the 2nd series of Doctor Who and the Christmas Special, to air very shortly after their UK premieres. The press releases: http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/news/drwho/2005/06/29/20283.shtml http://www.c21media.net/news/detail.asp?area=1&article=25400 |
Thanks for the information received about Doctor Who on Virgin Atlantic flights (column updated to reflect that). I'm still looking for information on Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, and British Airways. Also, while the BBC has announced sales of the series to Denmark and Hungary they haven't said who bought the show in those countries. If you know, or if you were the broadcaster, please get in contact so we can add the information and cover your broadcasts like the rest of the world. |
The BBC Press Office http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice and C21 Media http://www.c21media.net often announce when a Doctor Who international sale occurs. Worth keeping an eye on, just in case. |
