The 4th Doctor continues to visibly age. So does the Keeper Of Traken, who fears his time is up. To ensure a smooth transition to the next Keeper, he asks the Doctor for help. The Keeper is clearly unaware of the Doctor's reputation. He doesn't do smooth transitions.
