Initials: the episode was fourth for the day. Its final half hour was opposite Britain's Got Talent on ITV, which was top for the day with 9.7m watching and 43.9% share of the audience. The BBC's talent show, The Voice, had 7.9m watching - a large increase on the previous week. Casualty was third with 5.2m viewers.
For the finals, Doctor Who was the sixth highest rated show on BBC One for the week, with The Voice hitting the top spot with 9.5m viewers. Overall, the show was nineteenth for the week, which saw Britain's Got Talent the highest rated show overall with 11.86m. The other slots were taken up by the usual soapy suspects of Coronation Street, Eastenders and Emmerdale, plus Countryfile marginally ahead of Doctor Who with 6.78m viewers. The crime drama Broadchurch (starring David Tennant) achieved 9.56m viewers (fourth place).
