DRAMA Doctor Who can be many things: this episode, screened during the last football World Cup in June 2010, shows just how deliciously funny it can be. Poor Amy (Karen Gillan) and an athritic-sounding Tardis have been flung into deep space. While he works out what's happened, out bow-tied boffin (Matt Smith) masquerades as a human being and shares a flat with a lovelorn couch potato called Craig (James Corden - a superb and surprising foil to the funnyman in Smith). There's a creepy man-at-the-top-of-the-stairs subplot, but Gareth Robert's sweet romcom of a story is rooted firmly in the everyday. Credit: Radio Times, p44
