As the Carnival ends, the Scope is dying, and everyone (including Jo) inside will die unless the 3rdDoctor can make emergency repairs. Then comes the beginning of Frontier In Space, where Ogrons impersonate Humans and Draconians, turning those two species incredibly paranoid and hostile.
