Report from the This Week in Doctor Who Archive:
Friday 13th August 1999:
The much anticipated WQED Sci-Fi Saturday Night Fever pledge drive aired last Saturday. First they showed Back In The Red, the 3 part Red Dwarf VIII season opener. Then came Remembrance of the Daleks, a 7th Doctor story. Finally came Resurrection of the Daleks, a 5thDoctor story. Their special guest in the studio was John Peel, who has written several Doctor Who novels and novelizations, most notably Dalek stories. As of publication time, I do not know if this pledge drive was successful in its goal of keeping Doctor Who in Pittsburgh or not.
