Terry Wogan hosts the BBC's annual appeal for children: BBC TV and radio studios up and down the country remain 'on-air ' during the evening to receive your telephone donations. Over £1 million has been distributed to children since last year's appeal and tonight's programmes include reports on the wide variety of projects that were given help during 1983.
Celebrity guests include: Bonnie Langford , Jim Davidson , Andy Peebles and Kenny Everett. At the Newsdesk, Fran Morrison. And flying the flag for BBC radio, Gloria Hunniford.

The evening included the UK premiere of Doctor Who's 20th Anniversary special, The Five Doctors, and was followed by an interview between presenter Terry Wogan and current Doctor Peter Davison, who gave his coat over to auction for the charity.
