As we near 23rd November 2013, the day when the country will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, BBC Three are taking an in-depth look at of one of the most intriguing fictional characters of all time: The Doctor. Those who watched the final scene of the last series will know that as he approaches his Golden Anniversary it seems this most well-loved of British heroes may also be entering exciting unchartered territory, we may be about to see a different , darker side to the time-travelling Time Lord. This two hour bumper special will be introduced and closed by Matt Smith and Jenna Louise Coleman in character in the Tardis.
