The 4th Doctor is recalled to Earth by Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart to investigate a series of oil- rig disappearances. Something is stirring in Loch Ness, and the death toll is rising. One of the regular characters is shot in the head. Final appearance by Lethbridge-Stewart as an active Brigadier.
