Torchwood, created by Russell T Davis, follows the adventures of a team of investigators using alien technology to solve crime: some terrestrial, some not. Led by the enigmatic Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), the Torchwood team includes Gwen (Eve Myles) the group’s conscience, charming medic Owen Harper (Burn Gorman), reserved Toshiko Sata (Naolo Mori); the super intelligent and intense Suzie Costello (Indira Varma); and Ianto Jones (Gareth David Lloyd) who is far more important than his receptionist’s role suggests.
