The TARDIS reaches the outer limits of where it is allowed to travel in Time and Space. Time Lords are not allowed to interfere here for any reason. Of course, if the TARDIS is forced to land and you can't really leave, I guess you can make an exception. The famous TARDIS hat stand gets an action sequence! About 90 minutes.
