Press Release:
One year has elapsed and Earth has been closed to all species and labelled as in being "terminal extinction". Martha (Freema Agyeman) who had been teleported away returns to Britain. Her Tardis key, still generating a perception filter, keeps her hidden. On the Valiant the Master (John Simm) keeps the aged Doctor (David Tennant) as his humiliated prisoner, Martha's family as his servants and Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) in chains.
Across the planet, warships are built to wage war on the rest of the universe and an unseen Martha watches as the Master suspends the Doctor's capacity to regenerate and ages him a further nine hundred years.
Aided by Thomas Milligan (Tom Ellis) a doctor-turned-freedom-fighter and Professor Docherty (Ellie Haddington), and a gun developed by Torchwood and UNIT it's up to Martha Jones to carry out the Doctor's work and save the world.
PRODUCTION DETAILS:
Doctor Who is a BBC production in association with CBC. This episode was written by Russell T Davies, produced by Phil Collinson and directed by Colin Teague. Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner are executive producers.
