The Rani accidentally causes the Doctor to regenerate, which at least makes it easier for her plan to trick him into helping her complete a very nasty experiment. Sylvester McCoy plays the 7th Doctor, and the unconscious form of the 6th Doctor in the pre-credits sequence for episode 1.
