Sarah and the Doctor find themselves at a Space Defense Station in the English countryside. The local village seems deserted, telephones don't work, calendars are stuck on the same date and white-suited figures are wandering about aimlessly. What could possibly have happened to this seemingly quiet town?

The Doctor, Sarah and Harry return to Earth in response to the Brigadier's summons. UNIT are investigating a series of attacks on North Sea oil rigs and have set up a temporary HQ in the Scottish village of Tullock. The attacks are the work of a huge cyborg, the Skarasen, controlled by a group of aliens called Zygons whose spaceship lies at the bottom of Loch Ness.

Leslie Winner is one of the good guys. But he's forever finding himself in self-inflicted trouble. Despite his calamitous nature, he's found someone who'll put up with him - his fiancee Jemma. They're getting ready for their wedding, and if Leslie's going to pay for the honeymoon, he needs to find a job. And somehow manage not to get the sack. This loveable klutz is never far from a fresh disaster. Decorating a house, badly, with a paint gun. Wearing slippers to a high-pressure interview. Getting paid to 'play' a self-playing piano in a restaurant. Can Leslie stay out of trouble long enough to walk up the aisle with Jemma?

Doctor is convinced that the crew of the of the Recovery 7 are not human.

Jemma is away on a business trip, and Leslie's off to a Doctor Who convention.
