ABC HD Broadcast Timeline
2002-01-01 ABC started a prime time national simulcast of ABC Sydney in upscaled 1080i.
2005-01-01 The resolution of the simulcast was reduced to 576p
2008-01-01 The channel was branded ABC HD and the resolution changed to 720p. Native High Definition broadcasting started at this time.
2010-06-10 ABC HD was closed to make way for HD News Channel ABC News 24.
2016-12-06 ABC HD returned, this time broadcasting 1080i50 AVC with stereo AC3 audio in an mpeg4 container.
2017-01-22 to 2017-01-27 At some point during this date range the audio changed to MPEG-1 Audio Layer II
