Nebraska's educational television service kicked off as KUON-TV on 1st November 1954 at the University of Nebraska. In 1960 the Nebraska Council for Educational Television was formed by six school districts and the Nebraska ETV continued to expand during the decade. A new logo was adopted in 1974, but NBC used the same logo a year later, and when NET sued the corporation an out-of-court settlement led to a new logo and lots of equipment courtesy of the other!
The network showed original Doctor Who between 1982 and 1987, and then joined several PBS stations in airing the first new series with Christopher Eccleston in 2007 - however it did not take up options to continues into the David Tennant era and beyond.
