KUHT, based in Houston, Texas, launched on 25th May 1953, and was the first station to broadcast under a non-profit educational license in the United States, and one of the earliest member stations of National Educational Television which evolved into PBS.
It first showed Doctor Who from 1984 to 1993, then ran several of the modern series from 2007.
