Launched in 1995, Encore broadcast films which had previously premiered on sister channel Showtime premiere. In March 2004 it was rebranded as Showtime Greats, but was closed down on 15th November 2009 and replaced by three themed channels.

It was available on the Foxtel, Austar and Optus Television subscription television platforms on cable/satellite channel 404.
