WTTW (or "Window To The World") is one of three Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member public television stations serving Chicago, Illinois.

It was launched on 6th September 1955 as a member station of the National Educational Television. The service initially only ran during weekdays, showing educational and locally programming, before joining the PBS network in October 1970 and expanding to Saturdays in 1972 and later into a full 24x7 service.

Doctor Who began airing on the channel in September 1975 with Jon Pertwee's The Mutants, with episodes shown weekdays and stories shown in arbitrary order. From February 1976 stories were then shown in movie format until 1977, but it was in February 1980 that the series returned with Tom Baker and a pretty much continual run (both episodic and movie format) through to September 1991. The run including a showing of Hartnell and Troughton stories that were available in 1986. 1996 saw the remaining SylvesterMcCoy stories broadcast - with the notable exception of Battlefield!

April 2007 saw the premiere of Rose on the channel, introducing a new Doctor and a new run that continues with seasons on PBS up to the present day (usually around a year behind the BBC broadcast premieres).
