Ten HD, in it's original format, was a channel that broadcast news, live sporting events, entertainment, films, documentaries and science fiction. In addition to this, themed programming lineups were broadcast on specified days, including Sci-Fi Thursday. The channel provided fifty hours of exclusive content per week, which included time-shifted programming from Network Ten and additional programming from popular franchises. 

The channel ceased broadcasting on 25 March 2009 but was resurrected purely as a simulcast to the primary channel Ten on 2 March 2016.
