BBC One is the flagship television channel of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in the United Kingdom. It as launched on 2nd August 1932 as the country's sole television channel, and continued until September 1935 when it closed for the duration of World War II. The channel resumed in 1946 and then in 1964 was re-launched as BBC1 alongside the Corporations new channel, BBC2.
