Doctor Who: Podshock http://www.gallifreyanembassy.org/portal
Live Talkshoe broadcasts - http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/23358
call in number (724) 444-7444 call id 23358
1) Home to the Weekly-ish chat show with US and UK Doctor Who fans done in
podcast format. Hosted by Louis Trapani, Ken Deep, and James Naughton, with
frequent contributions/co-hosting by Dave AC, Mike Doran, and a cast of many.
There is a feed for studio shows and for life shows.
2) Also home to the Sonic Newsdriver, Louis Trapani's periodic rundown of new
Doctor Who news.
3) Also home to the Hitch-hiker's Guide To British Sci-Fi, a podcast covering a
mix of shows, including Doctor Who.
Current episode:
A Podshock Live event (check the Podshock Live feed - not yet on the regular
Doctor Who: Podshock feed). Louis, Ken, and the audience had a 2 hour, 13 minute
discussion on Planet Of The Dead. It was believed at press time that when/if the
show reaches the main feed, it will be divided in to two parts. Right now, the
rough, ready, and raw version is out.
Coming soon:
The next regular episode, date and episode number TBA.
Radio Free Skaro http://www.radiofreeskaro.com
The 3 Canadians get together on Sundays for about an hour or more to discuss the
latest in Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Sarah Jane in a fairly amusing manner.
Current episodes:
#136 - "The Wrath (and Hay Fever) Of Ian Levine". A lack of compelling news
forces Warren, Steve, and Chris to talk Twitter, Ian Levine, Neil Perryman, and
various other issues. Shock news - Chris Burgess will soon miss an episode,
which means Katrina (Xanister) will be back that week. Shocking(er) news - Radio
Free Skaro has taken the Jay Leno approach - Season 1 (episodes 1 through 46)
have been declared non-canonical! Radio Free Skaro now began with episode 47.
Then, on Wednesday, this episode came out:
#42 - "Life, The Universe, And Everything" - This Hitch-hiker's Guide To The
Galaxy refers to the 42nd episode of the Radio Free Skaro podcast thusly: "So, a
podcast decides to discuss Douglas Adams. Then they lose the episode. Then they
don't realize they've lost it and keep on going. What did they do - drink a Pan
Galactic Gargle Blaster?" On Wednesday the episode turned up on iTunes and other
internet sources - 1 year and 9 months late. A second entry appeared in the
Hitch-hiker's Guide - "Well, you told us. We will happily remove the old entry
for episode 42. But we have to know - was it real or just a clever re-creation?
It certainly does not sound like 2007. I'm just saying." The reviewer for the
Guide has since turned up in the Hospital sobbing softly, claiming he saw winged
Canadians chanting out "it was the real audio recorded 21 months ago, by
GARrrrrrrr". The reviewer is not expected to return to work, and a donation has
been made in his name to the society to protect the public from Pan Galactic
Gargle Blasters. As this episode is part of the original 46, its Canoncity is in
doubt. On the other hand, being re-released now may bring it back into the
official line.
Coming This Weekend:
#137 - Rose - Seeing a lack of news until Torchwood comes to save them in the
Summer, the Three available Canadians start doing the Eccleston. Commentaries on
the 2005 series of Doctor Who, starring Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor.
First up - the one a Canadian leaked out 3 weeks early.
Coming Down the Road:
#138 - "Listener Feedback Episode" - Chris Burgess will be at the Fab Cafe fan
event, so his voice will be played by Katrina (Xanister) in a special episode
focusing on the reactions of the listeners.
DWO Whocast http://www.thewhocast.com
Current episode:
Whocast episode 115. Marty and Trevor want more feedback on their new feed tune,
a rocking guitar version that turned up for an April Fools spoof and won over
their hearts. They want an honest reaction, though it's clear they want the new
tune to stay. Some other stuff is mentioned too, but you can tell when a show is
on a bit that the hosts are passionate about. The theme tune - that is the
passion of the week. Possibly the first Who podcast to get such passion over the
music so far - surprising given the number of strong Doctor Who themes and
strong opinions about them over the years.
Tin Dog Podcast http://www.tin-dog.co.uk
Weekly UK based podcast looking at the latest in Doctor Who, Torchwood, or Sarah
Jane Adventures. New episodes ever 2 weeks or so.
Current episode:
87 - News and the Image Of Fenhall. Michael investigates Image Of The Fendahl
(with some extras on his website) and reveals the near future of the Podcast,
dictated by wonderful news in his recent past. Congratulations!
CIA - Cultdom In Audio http://ciashock.podomatic.com
Live Talkshoe broadcasts http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/30659
call in number (724) 444-7444 call id 30659
West, Dave AC, Colin, and other Doctor Who fans liked the live Doctor Who:
Podshocks so much that they wanted to keep talking afterwards. The resulting
show covers Doctor Who, anything else sci-fi related, and can go wildly off in
all directions. Chats open 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Current episode - Easter Open Mike Day - Dave AC and the people free on Easter
Sunday came a chatting.
Upcoming episodes:
Sunday 4PM EDT/1PM PDT/9PM PDT - After show for spillover discussion after
Podshock Live talks Planet Of The Dead. Start time approximate. If Podshock runs
too late, this episode could be dropped.
26 April 2PM EDT/11AM PDT/7PM PDT - Red Dwarf. In the aftermath of 3 new
episodes (after a 10 year break), CIA takes a look at the main Sci-Fi/Comedy
Franchise of the BBC in the 1990s.
Doctor Who Review Today http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/22756
Live editions Late Fridays 1AM EDT/10PM PDT/6AM BST
Robert Carrie King reviews Doctor Who topics on this Talkshoe program. Frequent
cast member on CIA: Cultdom In Audio.
Most recent episode - April 24/25. Episode 32. The Two Doctors and Partners in
Crime. Samantha (Romana 2) and Darth Skeptical are in the room, and while I had
not heard the whole episode as the column went out, Talkshoe seems to have their
audio working correctly - for once. A review of Hoo On Who is in there too.
The Wailing Fangirl http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/22228
Samantha (Romana 2) explores Doctor Who and fandom in Australia, sometimes with
the aid of the ladies of the Gallifreyan Time Love Brigade. Frequent cast member
on CIA: Cultdom In Audio.
Current episode - 8. A look at the First Doctor's Era.
Coming soon - they are planning to gush poetically when Planet Of The Dead
arrives.
A Podcast Of Impossible Things http://podcastofimpossiblethings.blogspot.com
Cardiff-based Doctor Who fans get together to discuss the latest Doctor Who and
do a full length commentary on new Doctor Who episodes.
Current episodes:
A short look at The Next Doctor.
Bigger On The Inside http://www.earth-2.net
Mike and Dan decide to do their own podcast exploring each Doctor Who story in
broadcast order. It is a very different style from Jonathan's. Again - can they
pull it off? Part of the Earth-2 family of podcasts. Warning - explicit language
(swearing). If your headphones leak any sound at all - do not listen at work.
Current episode - 11 - The Chase and The Time Meddler. Goodbye to Ian and
Barbara. Hello to Steven Taylor. What did they think?
A Whovian's Quest http://www.whovianquest.com
Jonathan Rainer is podcasting his experiences as he watches Doctor Who. In
original broadcast order. From 1963. Without a gap. Can he pull it off?
Current episode - 13 - The Web Planet. Includes an update on the delays in the
interactive website Jonathan is planning.
Hoo On Who http://hooonwho.com
Fan reviews of recent Doctor Who DVDs. Might be easier to get to now that I have
fixed the web link.
Current episode - #8. Vengeance On Varos, with guest co-host Louis Trapani from
Doctor Who: Podshock. First part of the show is an interview giving the history
of the Gallifreyan Embassy, and how a Long Island Fan Club spawned a worldwide
podcast.
Two Minute Time Lord http://twominutetimelord.com
A bite-sized commentary and revew show from the perspective of a formerly casual
fan. Host Chip's interest was rekindled by the 2005 revival. He believes in
balancing old fandom and new viewers, respect for the past and breaking the
rules. He tries to keep his pontifications to 120 seconds, because we're ALL in
a hurry these days.
Current Episodes
16 - Planet Of The Delayed - why Chip thinks that Americans will have a long
wait for the new Doctor Who specials. Actually, this was last week's episode -
it just did not get noted here.
17 - We Interrupt This Podcast - every once in a while, you hear something that
really gets to you. You find you have to stop what you are doing, rip up your
script, and let out a primal SCREAM. For the Two Minute Time Lord, that moment
has come.
The Minute Doctor Who Podcast
http://web.mac.com/backintheussr6/The_Minute_Doctor_Who_Podcast/Podcast/Podcast.\
html

Video podcast looking at Doctor Who projects. Episodes are usually under 5
minutes long.
Current episode - 11 - Our host tries an audio episode on various topics. If
iTunes refuses to download the episode to your iPod, try just listening on the
computer as a workaround.
The Big Finish Podcast http://www.bigfinish.com/podcast
Big Finish podcasts at least once a month to discuss their Doctor Who and other
projects (Sapphire and Steel, Stargate (!), Dark Shadows, Bernice Summerfield,
etc).
Current episode - April News. The latest in Doctor Who and all the other
branches. Early reactions to Vooooooooorrrrrrtexxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
MMM Commentaries http://www.mmmcommentaries.com
Roving Australian podcasting gang. Commentaries on Doctor Who episodes, Star
Wars films, some Stargate stuff, and others.

The Two Doctors http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thetwodoctors

Jim Iaccino and Kenn Gold look at the latest SciFi broadcasts in the US, with
emphasis on fitting in Doctor Who, Dollhouse, Terminator, Smallville,
Supernatural, Fringe, and the other big scifi shows of the moment. Everything is
based on US premiere dates rather than UK. Approximately 90 minutes per episode.
Show airs live with a text chat and can be downloaded later.
Next episode - Late Sunday Midnight EDT/9PM PDT/Monday 5AM BST - Dollhouse,
Smallville, and Supernatural are back. Primeval is on the way - assuming they
heard the news. And much more news.
TV Talk Radio http://blogtalkradio.com/shaunomacradio
Weeknights 6 to 8PM EDT (3 to 5PM PDT) [Friday 7PM EDT/4PM PDT]
Shaun O'Mac Daily (of the Jericho "nuts" campaign) hosts a daily 2 hour show
covering all things TV. Doctor Who is sometimes discussed in the 2nd hour of the
Friday show with Two Doctors co-host Kenn Gold. Listen and chat live through the
website with archives appearing right after the show finishes.
Staggering Stories http://www.staggeringstories.net
A wild, wandering podcast with Doctor Who, Torchwood, Primeval, and other shows
winding together roughly once every 2 weeks.
Current:
Episode 43 - "Into The Wild Written Primeval" - biggest issues for Doctor Who
fans - a discussion of best and worst writers, plus a K9 trailer creates
reactions. Might be more, but was still listening to the show when This Week
weng out.
