Congratulations to the premiere of Doctor Who - Planet Of The Dead in the UK. The overnight ratings for the BBC One premiere was 8.4 million viewers, with 184,000 watching on BBC HD (the largest audience to date for a show on BBC HD). Further repeats on BBC Three and BBC One also did well, as reported by http://www.doctorwhonews.com . Final numbers will probably be released on Wednesday. The numbers were very much like the first episode of a new series in the Spring. Only difference is that we are waiting much longer between episodes. Special 2 - The Waters Of Mars - will air later in 2009. David Tennant has said November a few times in interviews, though schedule is tentative. |
|
SOME INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTERS MAY HAVE NOTICED that some Doctor Who fans (and fans of other shows) have found ways to watch the newest episodes before those broadcasters air them. Those broadcasters may fear that some of their potential viewers have already seen Doctor Who and are just that tiny bit less interested in watching Who on their own network. I have some advice on how to get people in your country to watch Doctor Who on your station. Read it - in a supplement to this column, as soon as I have it ready. It will appear on the Yahoo Group like a normal section and it will be edited in to the bottom end of the mirror on Outpost Gallifrey. |
