In "The Unquiet Dead" the episode of Doctor Who screening Saturday June 4 at 7.30pm on ABC TV it is 1869 and The Tardis brings the Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) and Rose (Billie Piper) to Wales in Great Britain. It is not quite where they were aiming for, but never mind!

At a theatre in Cardiff Charles Dickens (Simon Callow) is on stage holding an audience rapt with a telling of "A Christmas Carol". But at Sneed and Company's Undertakers, corpses are coming back to life, and later Dickens's audience is terrified by a scary spectre.

Something ethereal and troubled is on the loose, and it's up to the Doctor, Rose and Mr Dickens with the help of Gwyneth (Eve Myles), a brave Welsh maid with the gift of second sight to find out just what it is. The unwelcome guests are Gelth, gaseous creatures from another planet who have the ability to inhabit a corpse, making the dead walk again.
