"The End of the World", the second episode of Doctor Who screens on ABC TV on Saturday May 28 at 7.30pm and sees the Doctor take Rose on her first voyage through time, to witness the death of Planet Earth. But someone is planning sabotage.

Platform One is a space station five billion years in the future. The Doctor and Rose arrive on Platform One to witness The End of The World as the Sun expands and our planet burns. But a plot is afoot - an assassin is out to kill the ambassadors by plunging the station into the sun. Who is controlling the mysterious and deadly spiders?

Among the guests and suspects is the Lady Cassandra (Zoe Wanamaker), the last human, who is over 2,000 years old, she is vain and has had so much cosmetic surgery that she has been reduced to a piece of human skin stretched across a metal frame. Jabe (Yasmin Bannerman), a super evolved tree from the vast Forest of Cheem, she is directly descended from an Earth rainforest and her people have roots - literally- all over the universe. Then there is the Moxx of Balhoon, a little blue creature on a big cushion. They are introduced by The Steward (Simon Day), a blue man who manages the satellite station.
