The Sony Movie Channel is a channel wholly owned by the Sony Corporation, and launched in the United States on 1st October 2010, showing films etc. from the Sony back catalogue (including Columbia, TriStar and other acquisitions).

It was launched in the United Kingdom on 3rd May 2012, but at that time was only available in SD via Sky, with sister channel Moviemix was available on Freeview. However, on 10th January 2017 the two channels were combined into the single Movie Channel ident across Sky, Freeview and Virgin platforms.
