The channel was launched in October 1997 as the local version of Travel Channel. After the purchase by Discovery Communications and BBC Programming, it became People + Arts and showed a mix of British and American television series and reality shows.

The channel was shown across Latin America, dubbed into Spanish, and a version of the channel was also shown in Spain and Portugal (subtitled).

On 12th April 2010, the station was rebranded as Liv.
