Section B - The US Public TV stations:

WTTW 11 Chicago, IL http://www.wttw.com will air all of Series 1 in an all night marathon. Saturday 12 April 8PM to 6AM CDT. All-night Doctor Who party. Series 2 begins with The Christmas Invasion on Saturday 19 April at 10PM, with repeats Sundays at 6PM and late Fridays at 3:30AM.

WHRO 15 Norfolk, VA http://www.whro.org aired episode 2 of Robot on
April 5, instead of episode 1. Presumably episode 1 aired in March.
Classic Who airs weekly at just after 11:30PM and 4:30AM.

If Series 3 of Doctor Who becomes available to public TV stations, it
will be some time after the episodes have aired on BBC America. BBC
America airs Series 3 from January 26 to April 19 2008.

5 Public TV stations currently have rights to air the classic Doctor Who run (1963-1989). Iowa Public TV is currently airing both Series 2 and Peter Davison episodes. Maryland Public TV is airing Series 1 while resting classic Who. KBTC 28 Tacoma, WA and WCET 48 Cincinnati, OH are airing Tom Baker episodes while resting Series 1. WHRO 15 Norfolk, VA is airing pTomBaker}} episodes but apparently does not have New Who Series rights.

Three stations have, to the best of our knowledge, used all their rights to the Series 1 package - WLVT 39 Allentown, PA, Iowa Public TV, and Idaho Public TV. If they air Series 1 again, then that means they re-bought the package. WILL 12 Urbana, IL and OETA Oklahoma are currently on their 4th and presumably final cycle of Series 1. WMFE 24 Orlando, FL did not renew Doctor Who for a second series and is not expected to return it to their schedule. If any other stations have made similar determinations, they have yet to let us know.
