Late start due to special programming. The 20th and 22nd Centuries converge when the Doctor uncovers an effort to kill a politician believed responsible for the Daleks' conquest of Earth.

The alien menace has been defeated, but a homegrown threat continues to endanger the ambassadors and the Doctor.

In search of closure, the Doctor and Jo visit the Master in the island prison where he is sentenced to spend the rest of his lives. While the Master is in remarkably good condition, ships near the island are sinking at an alarming rate. As the death toll mounts, the Doctor opts to get personally involved, and discovers a second chance to bring about a peace he failed to deliver long ago.
