The Doctor takes Martha back in time to Elizabethan England where deadly witch-like Carrionites intend to use the genius words of Shakespeare to free their species from eternal imprisonment. CAST: Freema Agyeman

Press Release:
For Martha's (Freema Agyeman) first trip in the Tardis, the Doctor (David Tennant) takes her back in time to Elizabethan England. There, Lilith (Christina Cole), a beautiful young woman bids her suitor Wiggins (Sam Marks) into her house whereupon being kissed she turns into a wrinkled hag and introduces her two "mothers" Doomfinger (Amanda Lawrence) and Bloodtide (Linda Clarke) who devour him.

The deadly witch-like characters are Carrionites who intend to use the words of a genius -William Shakespeare (Dean Lennox Kelly) to break their species out of eternal imprisonment. The Doctor takes Martha to a performance of "Love's Labour's Lost", and, at the end of the play Shakespeare tells the audience that he is writing a sequel, "Love's Labour's Won". Then under a spell from Lilith he announces it will be staged the following night.

With Shakespeare under the control of the Carrionites, The Doctor and Martha Jones must battle from the dawn of the universe to stop history being changed forever.
