Aliens come to Earth, and link 1977 to 1983. Working in both time periods, the TARDIS crew try to solve the puzzle of the aliens before someone gets hurt. Two wild cards - a teenager hired by the Black Guardian to kill the 5th Doctor, and the memory of retired Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart, who is in both time zones. Special guest star - the Blinovitch Limitation Effect.
