TV3 is a Spanish channel broadcast by Televisio de Catalunya, based in Saint Joan Despi near Barcelona, and broadcasts in Catalan. It commenced trial broadcasting on 10th September 1983 (a day before the National Day of Catalonia) before starting a full service from 16th January 1984. In 1985 it expanded broadcasting to Andorra, Northern Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community (though the latter decided to cease broadcasting in December 2010).

During 1988/1989 the channel broadcast the first twelve Tom Baker stories, and then showed the revived series between 2008 and 2014 on both TV3 and sister channel TV33.
