TV4 Science Fiction was launched in Sweden by the TV4 Group on 29th February 2008. The following day it was launched in Finland under the name MTV3 Scifi (part of the MTV3 package). In April 2009 the channel was launched in Norway under the name TV 2 Science Fiction (via the TV 2 Group). The channel was wound down in 2012, with TV 2 Science Fiction finishing in January 2012 and the others in August.
Classic Doctor Who featured prominently on the channel from the start, commencing with William Hartnell on Monday 3rd March 2008, and during the run covered all of the first seven Doctors' adventures (that existed!). The channel also showed the first couple of series of Torchwood.
