"K-9 Adventures" in Development - not a BBC Production
(posted 24th Apr 2006, 11:19am - TWIDW post #0398)
Various media sources are reporting on an upcoming children's show
starring K-9, the robotic dog from the 4th Doctor era (who is guest
starring in the upcoming Doctor Who episode School Reunion). The
sources do not say who will provide the voice or when it will
premiere, but it is not a BBC production. Jetix Europe (with branded
kids programme schedules on cable/satellite channels in many parts
of the world) is behind the project.

"Pet project for Dr Who's K-9
"NEWS BRIEF: Jetix Europe is in development to give the robot dog
sidekick from BBC series Doctor Who (below) his very own comedy-
fantasy series.
"K-9 Adventures (26x30') is being developed by Jetix and UK
distributor Park Entertainment, in addition to Doctor Who writer Bob
Baker and designer Paul Tams. The space-set series features a mix of
cutting-edge CGI technology and live action.
"Michael Lekes, senior VP of programming for Jetix Europe, said he
predicted the series will be particularly popular with viewers in
the UK following the recent "revival and widespread popularity" of
the Doctor Who series, now starring Billie Piper and David Tennant."
