The TARDIS is intercepted by the megalomaniacal xerophyte Meglos, last survivor of the planet Zolfa-Thura, and trapped in a chronic hysteresis - a time loop - but the Doctor and Romana manage to free it.

The Doctor and Jo arrive on the medieval planet Peladon, where the Doctor is mistaken for a human dignitary. The Doctor plays along until he discovers a conspiracy to sabotage the planet's attempt to join the Galactic Federation. Compiles episodes 5 through 9 from "Doctor Who" series 9.
