Tuesday 27 June:
DR 10PM GMT - Rose (Denmark Premiere!)

Saturday 8 July:
ABC 7:30PM - The Christmas Invasion (Series 2 Premiere!)
The 10 June premiere of The Satan Pit on BBC One had overnight ratings of 5.5 million viewers, 35.8% of the audience watching TV at the time. The final ratings for The Idiot's Lantern on 27 May was 6.76 million viewers. Final numbers for The Impossible Planet on 3 June will probably come out shortly after this column goes to press.
BBC One http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone will air Doctor Who at its regular 7PM time this Saturday on the 17th (Love & Monsters). But keep an eye on the 24th. The press office sheet for Saturday 24 June (Fear Her) http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/proginfo/tv/wk26/sat.shtml says that the episode will air from 6:45 to 7:30PM, precisely between the 2006 World Cup knockout stage games that day (first one ends at 6:45, second one starts at 7:30). Warning - link has story description and possible spoilers for Fear Her. The Radio Times http://www.radiotimes.com currently has Fear Her airing at 7PM, with Confidential on BBC Three starting at 7:45PM.
Viewers in Spain and Portugal can finally see the last 3 episodes of Series 1 this week on the Digital Plus http://www.plus.es/codigo/default.asp platform! Channel 27 People + Arts is airing Doctor Who on a loop most late nights at 1:30AM CET.Boom Town will air late Sunday 18 June. Bad Wolf will air late Monday 19 June. The Parting of the Ways will air late Tuesday 20 June. For some reason, People + Arts did *not* air these three episodes the first 2 times the station aired Series 1, when episodes aired up to 6 times a week. So stay up late or set your VCR/DVR/DVD recorder to tape the episodes.
Denmark TV station DR (Danmarks Radio) http://www.dr.dk/tv airs Doctor Who Tuesdays at 10PM GMT starting 27 June. Late start due to being too scary for kids.
ABC Australia http://www.abc.net.au/tv has confirmed the speculation - The Christmas Invasion airs Saturday 8 July at 7:30PM. It's on their online schedule now. Series 2 will air the 13 weeks following Christmas Invasion - 15 July through 7 October.
Hong Kong station ATV World http://www.hkatv.com/world/05 has bought The Christmas Invasion and Series 2 of Doctor Who. Start date TBA, but Who will air Mondays at 9PM this time around.
CBC Canada http://www.cbc.ca/television begins its repeat run of Series 1 this Tuesday late night at Midnight (12:30AM Newfoundland). It is expected that Series 2 will air in Fall 2006.
NRK 2 Norway http://www.nrk.no begins a repeat run of Series 1 Fridays at 11:30PM starting 7 July.
ยป the repeat was removed.
BBC Three http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree is scheduling some more "catch-up" Doctor Who programming.

1) On Saturday 17 and 24 June BBC Three airs double features of Doctor Who Confidential - new episode at 7:45PM, older full-length episode at 8:15PM. School Reunion's tie-in episode repeats on the 17th, Tooth and Claw's tie-in show on the 24th. Full length repeats of the new Confidential episodes continue to be bounced on the schedule - the 17 June episode repeats late that night (early Sunday 18 June) at 3:35AM - the 24 June episode repeats late Sunday night (early Monday 26 June) at 3:30AM. Information on 24 June could change, as the Radio Times schedule conflicts with the BBC Press Office.

2) BBC Three is also airing a "catch-up" week of Doctor Who episodes, though this week is a bit sporadic, presumably affected by World Cup programming.

Monday 19 June 7PM - The Age of Steel (Confidential Cutdown 2-06 at 7:45PM)
Tuesday 20 June 7PM - The Idiot's Lantern (Confidential Cutdown 2-07 at 7:45PM)
Wednesday 21 June 7PM - The Impossible Planet (Confidential Cutdown 2-08 at 7:45PM)
Friday 23 June 10PM - The Satan Pit
Friday 23 June 10:45PM - Love & Monsters (the normal Friday 9PM repeat pre-empted that week only)
Members of the British military who get the BFBS TV channels should note a Doctor Who day change starting this week. BFBS 2 now airs Doctor Who Thursday evenings at 11ish PM instead of Friday evenings, with Doctor Who Confidential airing immediately afterwards. BFBS Navy has moved both its Saturday AM airings of Doctor Who and Doctor Who Confidential to Friday AM at approximately the same times.
SciFi http://www.scifi.com completed its first airing of Series 1 this past Friday with The Parting of the Ways. SciFi airs a 7 hour marathon this Friday June 16 at 8PM Eastern (4 episodes, 3 airing twice) before starting a Sunday night 11PM Eastern repeat run on June 25. SciFi also has a marathon of the first 8 episodes on Wednesday July 5 at 8AM Eastern, the day after Series 1 is finally released on DVD in the USA. At the current time, SciFi has not announced the purchase of The Christmas Invasion and Series 2. They have the first option to buy those episodes, but we do not know if they will exercise that option.
SciFi has issued a press release on Doctor Who's ratings results at
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=2&id=36602 . This is not a guarantee of Series 2, but it does sound positive.

Who Boosts SCI FI Ratings

The new updated Doctor Who boosted SCI FI Channel's ratings on Friday nights by double digits, the network reported. The new version of Doctor who, produced by the BBC, wrapped its first season on SCI FI on June 9.

Doctor Who averaged a 1.3 household rating and 1.5 million total viewers in its 9 p.m. Friday timeslot, a 44 percent increase in ratings and a 54 percent in viewership over the same timeslot in the second quarter last year.

In key demographics, Doctor Who averaged 778,000 viewers aged 18- 49, a 57 percent increase over 2005, and 942,000 viewers aged 25-54, a 56 percent increase.

Executive-produced by Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner, the 13- episode hourlong drama starred Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper.
Eric Gjovaag of the Emerald City Androgums http://www.eskimo.com/~tegan/androgums has issued a press release on the KBTC http://www.kbtc.org Doctor Who pledge night on Saturday June 10, the first Doctor Who broadcast on the station in 18 months and the first US public TV station to add Doctor Who back to the lineup after BBC Worldwide Americas offered the classic series for purchase again.

I just wanted to let everyone know that our pledge drive was amazingly successful. After a year and a half off the air, the support is still there. Our goal was $18,000, and we came close, with over $16,000. Not bad for a black and white story and not a lot of advance publicity. (Some folks called in and told us they didn't even know it was on until they started channel surfing.) While there's no danger of the show going off the air any time soon, the station could always use a little more money. So if fans around the country, or the world, want to help another PBS station succeed with "Doctor Who," KBTC can take online pledges. If you can help, go to http://www.kbtc.org/ecommerce/pledge.aspx . You can even get some of the thank you gifts offered during the pledge drive if you go down to Option 3 and check the list for "Doctor Who" items.

Regular broadcasts start up again at 7:00 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays, beginning on June 24 with episodes 1 and 2 of The Three Doctors. WOO-HOO!"
The BBC Press Office http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice and C21 Media http://www.c21media.net often announce when a Doctor Who international sale occurs. Worth keeping an eye on, just in case.
Corrections and updates are welcome.
