Welcome to This Week In Doctor Who (TWIDW), the weekly guide to Doctor Who broadcasts around the world. Last week, we were all in pain, and putting out a column about a TV show seemed rather small. This week, life goes on, and we return almost to normal. Enjoy the column.
For six months, there's been a bit of a hole in online Doctor Who fandom. The Doctor Who Alliance Newsletter, written by Shaun Lyon (Outpost Gallifrey, the Gallifrey conventions in Los Angeles), has been on hiatus. News from all kinds of Doctor Who fandom, feature articles, convention info - all in a convenient free newsletter in the e-mail. Many readers of this column probably came across it in the Alliance first, as Shaun included it in the Alliance to help it reach a wider audience.

Well, the Doctor Who Alliance http://www.drwhoalliance.com/ is about to return. This Week In Doctor Who would like to welcome it back. If you have never read it, check some of the back issues on their web site to get a taste of it. If you want to subscribe to the Alliance, there's a place on the site to do that. It's a Yahoo! Group, so if you subscribe to this column through Yahoo you have a fair idea how to subscribe to the Alliance. The Alliance is the #1 Doctor Who Yahoo group at last count with somewhere over 2700 subscribers.

The revived and refreshed version of the Alliance will not have this column in it any more, since This Week now has a mailing list of its own and the publication schedules for the Alliance and This Week will probably not match up any more. I'll still probably find ways to pop up there every once in a while, of course.

Welcome back, Alliance!

Sun 11:30PM PDT Inferno eps 3,4,5,+6 of 7
Episodes 3+4 also aired last Sunday. The 3rd Doctor is in an alternate universe, where Britain is run by fascists and the Inferno drilling project is much closer to completion. Dire consequences may occur if the drilling is not stopped. Listen for the voice on the radio in episode 5 - that's Jon Pertwee. The scene was originally cut from UK broadcasts for fear people would recognize that Jon was both on the radio and in the room playing the Doctor at the same time.

Thanks for reading. Until next week, take care.
