Torchwood This Week
March 7, 2009 - Vol 3, No 10
The weekly guide to Torchwood transmissions.
by Benjamin F. Elliott
Doctor Who schedule information is in This Week In Doctor Who .
Torchwood reaches Germany on Wednesday, as RTL 2 (aka RTL II) begins airing the 26 episodes at 10:05PM with a 3:55AM repeat. 65 minute time slot which could mean the episodes will be uncut.
Canadians get another shot at Series 2 on SPACE when repeats begin Tuesday at 9PM Eastern (6PM Pacific). Repeats should run into June. SPACE has picked up Doctor Who - The Next Doctor (see This Week In Doctor Who Western Hemisphere).
UKTV Australia has picked up Torchwood Series 3 (airdate unknown). BBC Entertainment South Africa has also picked up Series 3 (they are still premiering Series 1, so this would also be our first confirmation that they have Series 2). These add to the already known BBC One, BBC America, and SPACE in Canada.
Beginning this weekend, BBC Entertainment is shifting the first airing of
Torchwood to approximately 9PM and the repeat to approximately 3AM, with a
repeat of last week's episode as the lead in. Doctor Who Series 3 is getting
similar treatment, as noted in the main This Week In Doctor Who column.
