KERA & UKTV Updates
(posted 18th Sep 2003, 11:16am - TWIDW post #0178)
A This Week In Doctor Who special report.
Quick updates regarding KERA 13 Dallas, TX and UKTV in Australia.
According to the program director at KERA, Doctor Who will not return in 2003. There was a lack of funding and they are busy merging KDTN 2 into KERA 13 (KDTN 2 is being sold to another broadcaster). IF Doctor Who returns, it will be 2004 at the earliest. My source got the impression that there was not a lot of hope for that.
Jason Fraser reports that UKTV is not airing a Doctor Who marathon on 11 October. Rather, it is beginning a best of run, strung out over a number of weeks. The stories and involvement of Katy Manning are correct as mentioned previously in This Week In Doctor Who. The first broadcast will be Saturday 11 October from 8AM to 12:10PM AEST, with An Unearthly Child and the first half of The War Games airing. The rest of the schedule is not yet known. If more information breaks on UKTV before next week's column, look to for updates.
